ROME (AP) _ Dino Zoff, who guided Italy to the finals of the
Euro 2000 soccer championships, resigned Tuesday.
The former Juventus and national team keeper was buffeted by
criticism over Italy's highly defensive play but surprised many
before losing a dramatic final to France.
Zoff was clearly angered by criticism from politician and AC
Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi.
"I don't take lessons in dignity from Mr. Berlusconi," Zoff
said after announcing his resignation.
